Recently, at ACA Galleries I saw the unique fiber paintings of Kandy G.Lopez. It is a pleasure to share her work with you. An Afro-Caribbean visual artist, Lopez embraces both material and metaphorical challenges in her practice, using fiber to represent marginalized individuals who inspire and move her. She has a unique approach to painting with fiber, creating large-scale masks through the incorporation of yarn, thread, and repurposed clothing.
